Three types of tabletop centrifuges |
KUBOTA is producing three
types of general-purpose tabletop centrifuges to meet
the various requirements of the customers. To see the

Sealing adapter for ST-480M rotor |
The sealing adapter,
specially designed for the ST-480M rotor, provides
customers with a perfect solution to handle bio-hazardous
experiments such as tests of acid-fast bacteria.
Three kinds of adapters are available; the customer
can spin 15 and 50mL conical (TC) and 50mL Oak ridge
type tubes with sealing adapters at over 4,000xg.

Five channel memory settings |
| The memory setting
function makes routine work easy and simple, storing
centrifugal speed, RCF and time. It is possible
to save, recall and operate the centrifugal condition
just by pushing the program switches. |

Acceleration/Deceleration (Three-level
switching) |
| The 5420 model
provides Three-level switching for both acceleration
and deceleration, corresponding to application requirements.
For example, in those cases where one must avoid
whirring up the samples, a slow deceleration can
be programmed so as to achieve the desired conditions
and most accurate results. |

g.sec integrator function |
| The g.sec integrator
function optimizes the protocols in those cases
where customers need to achieve exactly the same
centrifugal effect. One can obtain the same effect
just by setting the g.sec value in the 5420 model.
The g.sec integrator function enables one to control
centrifuge spins with the same centrifugal effect
and to calculate g.sec value. |

Alarm indicator and automatic stop
functions |
| Various alarm indicators
and automatic stop functions improve safety further
and stop the operation immediately after activation
in the case of an emergency. The 5420 model is equipped
with an alarm indication function including imbalance
detection and speed sensor fault detection. The
rotor sensor detects whether the rotor is set correctly
to the drive shaft. In addition, the unit is fitted
with a circuit breaker. |

Tachometer-port |
| The 5420 has a
tachometer-port on its lid to check the actual speed.
The validation of the speed sensor by measuring
the actual speed is highly needed for stringent
GMP requirements (As to the main unit which was
produced after January, 2004). |

Balancing of the sample |
| The 5420 model
enables one to reduce the experiment time, allowing
centrifugal separation to be carried out with eye
measured sample balancing. With its tolerable imbalance
sensor, it is not necessary to balance the sample
with remarkable accuracy. In addition, the operation
is smooth and it maintains a quiet environment. |
